FLAGSTAFF, AZ — A winter storm caused the closure of Flagstaff schools and high country roadways on Friday.
Flagstaff Unified School District announced early Friday morning that classes, after-school activities, and food service were canceled on Feb. 2 due to inclement weather.
The snowy conditions also led to the closure of northbound I-17 near Munds Park.
According to Arizona Department of Transportation and Public Safety officials, multiple commercial vehicles were reportedly stuck in the snow south of Munds Park, and snow plows were unable to get around them.
Northbound traffic was shut down but it has since reopened at milepost 310 (north of Stoneman Lake Road).
Southbound lanes were not impacted.

More snow is expected to fall in some parts of the state Friday, while the Valley could see a few more rain showers.
Many parts of the Valley saw a half-inch to an inch of rain overnight.
