CHANDLER, AZ — One teenager is dead and two others are hurt after a shooting at Snedigar Sportsplex in Chandler Sunday night.
Officers were called to the area near Alma School and Chandler Heights roads around 9 p.m. for reports of shots fired near the northwest end of the park.
Responding officers found three victims, all 16 and 17 years old, were struck by gunfire. One of the victims died at the scene.
The extent of the injuries suffered by the other two victims has not yet been released.
Police say the incident occurred between two “acquainted” groups and there is no danger to the public. It appears to be an isolated incident, police say.
ABC15 saw a vehicle being towed away from the scene with what appeared to be multiple bullet holes in the window.
No suspect information was immediately available and police say no suspects were located in a search of the area.
